Cabbage Kielbasa Skillet (Serves 4)
The beauty of a skillet meal is the ease of preparation topped off
by tasty results. It’s convenient to keep some kielbasa or smoked
sausage in the refrigerator for use in this recipe when the need arises.
1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
1 green pepper, cut into thin strips
1 red pepper, cut into thin strips
2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
1 pound reduced-fat kielbasa or smoked sausage, cut in to 1-inch pieces
1 (16-ounce) package coleslaw mix
1 cup water
1 teaspoon chicken base or chicken bouillon
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1. In a large skillet, sauté onion and peppers in olive oil.
2. Add the kielbasa, coleslaw mix, water, chicken base, garlic powder
and ground pepper.
3. Cook and stir for 6-8 minutes or until heated through. Serve.
